The general aim of the Training of Teachers is to build capacities and improve scientific and technical knowledge exploitable on the labour market, which means identification and transference of the best teaching practices; improvement of learning processes; analyse the technological and methodological framework; implementation of international teaching methodologies; upgrade of technical skills; share of knowledge on Food Safety between EU and Moroccan HEI partners.
The workshop was dedicated to the realization of practical activities related to technologies and analyses in the field of food safety, with a focus on Mediterranean food products (milk, olive oil, honey, etc.). It also envisaged joint work sessions, between teachers from the different partner HEIs, to prepare and plan the classes of the modules of the future Master in Food Safety that will start in the academic year 2023/2024, and of the MOOC in “Healthy, safe and sustainable food in the Mediterranean”.
In particular, the first day focused on milk, dairy products, and quality control. The following days dealt with risk analysis for pasteurized milk, olive oil and quality control, labelling and regulation of local products, chemical control and sensory analysis of honey, among others. On the last day, the participants visited the agricultural cooperative Mabrouka, near Rabat. The cooperative illustrates its activities in the milk and red meat chain, as well as its South-South cooperation activities and development projects. In the afternoon, a meeting on WP6 was held to discuss the organization of the International Conference, which will take place on 28-29 November kindly hosted by IBN Tofail in Kenitra.
About 30 Moroccan professors from all partner universities were involved in the training for the technical and the methodological upgrading. The agenda of the workshop is available here
